Task
A tool for everyday work with databases that forgives the wrong click: view, change, compare and back up across four databases — self-hosted, without passwords and as strict as access to other people’s data demands.
Approach
Following DSDM in timeboxes, with a threat model and architecture decisions. The tests run against all four databases, including the oldest supported versions; two security reviews following OWASP ended with no open high finding. A web installer sets up signed releases even at hosts without a console.
Result
phpdbadmin is freely available: source code and signed releases on GitHub, the website in English and German at phpdbadmin.net. Sign-in by passkey or emailed code, privileges per connection and an audit log of every writing action.
