Task
A CMS that covers the scope of the well-known Laravel CMSs but is made in one piece: one application instead of dozens of plugins, a theme language that cannot execute code, and editing that works without a manual.
Approach
Following DSDM in 80 timeboxes with feasibility, architecture decisions and reports. The Lava theme language has its own grammar, a checker and a language server for VS Code and PhpStorm. The tests run against four databases.
Result
Basalto can be downloaded or set up with the web installer at common hosts. basaltocms.com and this website run on it themselves — with a marketplace for themes and plugins, a forum, customer accounts and licences.
